Types of Leather

Aniline leather

Aniline leather is a type of leather that is tannaged with dyes and does not contain a top-coat on the finished leather. This remains the hide's natural surface but does not protect the leather from damage. The raw hides must be specifically selected since the finished hides will present almost intact so that even a small scar appears noticeably. Aniline leather is very soft to the touch, breathable and appears luxurious.

Semi-Aniline leather

Semi-Aniline leather only has a slight layer of pigment used to coat its surface in order to improve the natural defects on the skin, but still retain its natural soft touch.

Pigmented leather

Pigmented leather is durable, low maintenance and available in a wide variety of colours and styles. Pigmented leather gets its name from the layer of coloured pigment that is applied to the surface of the leather. This layer of coloured pigment gives the leather a vibrant, uniform appearance.
